October 14 emergency-response activity will be part of a scheduled exercise
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BROWNSVILLE, Texas (October 14, 2026) — Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO) will conduct the Triennial Airport Emergency Exercise on October 14, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at 100 S. Vermillion Road.
Members of the public may see emergency vehicles, first responders and simulated emergency-response activity at the airport during the exercise. These activities are planned and do not indicate an actual emergency.
The exercise will give BRO and its response partners an opportunity to practice emergency procedures, strengthen coordination and test communication with passengers, employees, tenants, media and the community.
BRO is coordinating advance public notification with the City of Brownsville to help prevent unnecessary alarm or confusion about the activity.
The airport encourages community members to share this notice and remain aware of the scheduled exercise if they are near the airport on October 14.
